1,000+ Child Porn Files Found On Man’s Device: Hillsborough Sheriff

LUTZ, FL — A Lutz man was arrested Monday after detectives found more than 1,000 files containing child sexual abuse material on an electronic device, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The investigation began July 27 after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a CyberTipline report identifying the upload of child sexual abuse material.

Detectives with the HCSO Internet Predators Unit traced the upload to a Lutz residence and identified the suspect as Charles Price, 61, the sheriff’s office said.

On Monday, detectives with the Internet Predators Unit and the HCSO SWAT team served a court-authorized search warrant at Price's home.

During the search, investigators found an electronic device containing more than 1,000 files of child sexual abuse material involving juvenile victims between the ages of 5 and 12, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives also identified online activity associated with the device involving the transmission and trading of such material.

Price was taken into custody and charged with solicitation or possession of child sexual abuse material involving 10 or more images, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and obstruction of service or execution of a search warrant.

“Our detectives will continue to pursue anyone who victimizes children, and we will do everything in our power to protect the most vulnerable members of our community,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
