• Sheriff asks City of Trenton to reconsider waiting to hire new chief before deciding whether to send cars, equipment to GCSO (gilchristcountyherald.com) — Trenton commissioners are moving ahead on public safety, selecting eight finalists for the new public safety chief job and setting $800 monthly pay for the volunteer fire chief. They also heard Sheriff Bobby Schultz’s push to transfer unused city police vehicles to GCSO and approved new four-way stop signs in the southwest quadrant to address speeding concerns from nearby residents. 
• Florida Gov. DeSantis signs another 17 bills into law. Here's the list (clickorlando.com) — One of Florida’s newest laws directly benefits Trenton by granting the city a parcel of state-owned land, including the historic Trenton Train Depot, for public use. The same bill package covers a range of local issues statewide, but this land transfer could shape future public projects or amenities right in Trenton.
