• Byron woman pleads guilty in federal stolen check conspiracy (41nbc.com) — A 24-year-old Byron woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to a stolen-check conspiracy involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, with sentencing still to be scheduled. Prosecutors say she used social media to sell washed checks stolen from the mail and deposited altered checks into her own account. Multiple Middle Georgia law enforcement agencies, including nearby departments, assisted in the investigation.
