Man accused in deadly January stabbing in Warner Robins enters not-guilty plea, court records show (13wmaz.com) — In Perry’s Houston County Superior Court, a man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in Warner Robins this January has pleaded not guilty, moving the case toward a possible trial. He remains jailed without bond as prosecutors pursue multiple murder and assault charges stemming from the Kay Drive killing.
   

2. Warner Robins mowing grass on right-of-ways sparks debate (hhjonline.com) — A Warner Robins contract for mowing major roadways went to Alpharetta-based TriScapes, even though Perry’s Real Turf Solutions submitted the closest competing bid at a much higher price. City leaders debated supporting local Middle Georgia companies versus saving about $131,000, with the new mowing schedule starting July 1.
   

3. U.S. Men's Sitting Team Takes Two at 2026 Dutch Tournament (usavolleyball.org) — A member of the U.S. Men’s Sitting National Team, outside hitter Jason Roberts of Perry, helped the squad open the Dutch Tournament in the Netherlands with wins over Ukraine and the host team. Detailed stats highlight strong performances across the roster as the team tunes up for next month’s World ParaVolley Championship in China, with more matches set through June 21.
   

4. Georgia Republicans Decline to Redraw Election Maps During Special Session (valdostaceo.com) — State Sen. Larry Walker III of Perry joined other GOP leaders in deciding not to redraw Georgia’s election maps during the current special session, despite Gov. Brian Kemp’s request. Citing ongoing court challenges and a 2028 effective date, they argued there’s time to revisit the issue later, even as protesters and Democrats at the Capitol warned of consequences for minority voters and November’s elections.
