Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- Hanwha Advanced Materials Georgia, a subsidiary of Hanwha Group has announced its plans to build a $147 million facility in Cartersville. Hanwha supplies Qcells with encapsulant film for solar panel production. Qcells announced in January of this year its planned expansion to Cartersville. Both production facilities are expected to open on the summer of 2024. (Patch)
- The Bartow County Board of Education has approved four major purchases for elementary and middle schools. Laptops with warranties were purchased "to refresh the middle school 1:1 devices." The purchase price for the laptops was $2,327,500. "Individualized learning hubs in media centers" was also approved to be purchased for STEM learning activities for Pine Log, Clear Creek, Euharlee, Hamilton Crossing and Taylorsville elementary schools, as well as Cass and Woodland middle schools. Laptop bags and two new maintenance trucks were also approved for purchase. (wbhfradio.org)
- For its third year, the Bookmobile's Easter fundraiser Everybunny Loves Reading will raise funds to support its "mission of access to books." Valerie Gilreath, executive director and co-founder of Reading to Go Places also added that this year, parents can "select a theme" and choose an age-appropriate basket. Pre-filled baskets will also be available to donate to a child in need. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
