• Deputies: Driver leaves scene after pedestrian killed on Forsyth Road (41nbc.com) — A 30-year-old man was killed early Saturday in a hit-and-run on Forsyth Road in Macon, and deputies say the driver left without reporting the crash. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office fatality investigator. 
• Sheriff says teacher's actions helped save student shot at Warner Robins High School (wpganews.com) — From Macon, authorities are detailing how a Warner Robins High School teacher followed lockdown training to protect a wounded ninth grader after a campus shooting. Houston County's sheriff says the student's life was likely saved, and the district is now adding metal detectors at all middle and high schools while investigators continue their work.
