Macon debuts redesigned wayfinding pillars honoring music legends (wpganews.com) — Downtown Macon has installed redesigned wayfinding pillars that honor local music legends while helping visitors find parking, shops, and attractions. The new signs include maps, business listings, and QR codes that share Muscogee language history and guide people to sites tied to Otis Redding, Little Richard, and the Allman Brothers. 
2. Safer streets an 'everyday effort' as overdue Complete Streets report released (13wmaz.com) — Macon-Bibb officials have released the first Complete Streets report, showing overall crashes down but pedestrian injuries and deaths still troublingly high. The county is adding sidewalks, bike lanes, and traffic calming, and will share more safety plans at an October 1 summit at the Bibb County Schools Professional Learning Center.
3. UPDATE: I-75 box truck chase began after Macon domestic dispute, deputies say (41nbc.com) — Bibb County deputies say a domestic dispute on Brookdale Avenue in Macon led to a dangerous box truck chase on I-75 through Peach and Houston counties, ending with the driver's arrest. The suspect now faces multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing other drivers and officers to take evasive action during the pursuit.
4. Macon woman charged alongside 7 others in human trafficking investigation, attorney general says (13wmaz.com) — A Macon woman is among eight people charged in a statewide human trafficking investigation involving a missing 17-year-old girl, according to Georgia's attorney general. Bibb County deputies and other agencies coordinated raids that recovered the teen and led to RICO charges, with several suspects also facing additional counts in Bibb County courts.
5. Report: Half of Georgia counties lack adequate maternity care (41nbc.com) — From a Macon dateline, new March of Dimes data shows half of Georgia's counties lack adequate maternity care, forcing many women to travel much farther for prenatal visits and delivery. The report warns that these "maternity care deserts" especially endanger rural families and can lead to delayed care and worse outcomes for mothers and babies.
