• Holly Jean Cates Thompson (themillennews.com) — Millen residents are mourning the passing of longtime nurse and Millen Baptist Church member Holly Jean Cates Thompson, 70, who died September 8. A Jenkins County native and Augusta Tech–trained LPN, she devoted over 30 years to caring for others and was remembered in a September 11 memorial service at Millen Baptist Church surrounded by family, friends, and her church community.
