State officials and experts will share practical tips on retirement planning and fraud prevention, with panel discussions, resources, and a complimentary continental breakfast for registered attendees.

Adoptable (Official) Georgia Dogs for September 28, 2026 (gapundit.com) — Several dogs are currently available for adoption through One Love Animal Rescue in Savannah, giving local families a chance to welcome a new companion. Miss Savannah Juneteenth court needs your help to provide coats for kids (wtoc.com) — Savannah teens from the Miss Savannah Juneteenth court are organizing a community coat drive to keep local children and teens warm this winter. Residents can donate new or gently used coats, give money, or register online if their family needs a coat, with priority given on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Savannah-Chatham public schools graduation rate climbs to 87.8% (wtoc.com) — Graduation rates in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System have climbed to 87.8% for the Class of 2026, with three local high schools achieving a perfect 100%. District leaders credit students, staff, and families for the progress and say they're focused on helping even more Savannah students reach graduation.
   

5. Savannah Mall future sparks town center ideas as city weighs Southside redevelopment (wjcl.com) — Savannah officials are weighing how to transform the closed Savannah Mall site on the Southside, backed by $18 million in SPLOST funds. Ideas include a town center, recreation facilities, mixed-use development, or housing, and the city will soon seek public input through surveys, open houses, and meetings to decide what best serves nearby neighborhoods and institutions.
