'The people in power need to be held accountable': Community reacts to Savannah Flock camera arrests (wtoc.com) — Savannah officials are responding after three police officers and a civilian employee were arrested for allegedly misusing Flock license-plate cameras to track acquaintances. Community members and Mayor Van Johnson are stressing accountability, while Savannah Police Chief Lenny Gunther has pledged weekly audits of Flock searches and continued transparency efforts to rebuild public trust in the city's surveillance technology.
   

2. Savannah teenager charged in fatal accidental shooting (savannahnow.com subscription) — Savannah police have charged 18-year-old Victor Bernardo Salazar with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault after an accidental shooting on Benton Boulevard left a man dead. Officers found the victim with a head wound on Aug. 21, and he later died at Memorial Health. Investigators are still gathering information and are asking anyone with tips to contact CrimeStoppers or use the Savannah Police app.
   

3. Savannah NAACP set to host Sheriff Richard Coleman this afternoon (wsav.com) — Savannah residents can hear directly from Sheriff Richard Coleman this afternoon at a public NAACP meeting at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church on May Street. He'll discuss the Chatham County Detention Center, courthouse security, crime reduction efforts, and ways the community can partner with the Sheriff's Office to improve safety and trust, with time for audience questions.

5. Game-winner closes out Savannah Steel's inaugural season (wsav.com) — Savannah basketball fans just saw the Savannah Steel cap their inaugural season with a dramatic 92–90 home win over league-leading Jacksonville, thanks to Lauren Taylor's buzzer-beating bank shot in overtime. The victory snapped an 11-game skid against Jacksonville and ensured Savannah beat every team in the league at least once, despite finishing a tough 9–25 overall.
