An Altercation Near A Church Ended In Murder Charges, Aurora Police Say
Aurora police said an altercation between acquaintances ended with the death of a 57-year-old man.
AURORA, IL — Authorities have arrested and charged a man in connection with another man's death following an altercation near a downtown Aurora church.
Luis Miguel Garcia Vazquez, 31, of Aurora, was taken into custody this week and charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the Tuesday incident, Aurora police said in a statement.

According to police, officers responded to the Warehouse Church in the 300 block of East Galena Boulevard around 9:30 on Wednesday morning after receiving a report of an unresponsive person on the property. When officers arrived, they found a 57-year-old man suffering from severe head trauma.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics took the man to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Following an investigation, police said the victim had been involved in a physical fight with an acquaintance on Tuesday night, during which he suffered severe head injuries.

Through witness interviews and evidence, detectives identified Garcia Vazquez as the suspect. Detectives later located Garcia Vazquez and took him into custody without incident.
Garcia Vazquez is currently being held pending his initial court appearance.
