Man Charged With Murder In Mail Carrier's Killing: Authorities
A minor separately pleaded guilty to murder for his role in the woman's death, authorities said.
CHICAGO — A man was recently arrested and faces murder charges in connection with the 2024 shooting death of a letter carrier in Chicago, according to authorities.
Lyndell Deyoung, 35, of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 24 and charged with first-degree murder and murder by acts creating the strong probability of death or great bodily harm, authorities said.
The charges were brought after Deyoung was identified as a suspect in the July 19, 2024, shooting death of letter carrier Octavia Redmond while she was working in the 12100 block of South Harvard Avenue, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
