Man Accused Of Exposing Himself Near Crystal Lake Elementary School During Recess

Police say children and an adult witnessed the incident outside Canterbury Elementary School before the suspect fled the area.

Crystal Lake police arrested a 69-year-old man Wednesday after he allegedly exposed himself near an elementary school during recess.

Officers responded around 12:58 p.m. on Wednesday to the area of Canterbury Elementary School, 875 Canterbury Drive, for reports that a man exposed himself to children and an adult who were outside during recess, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release.

Police said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, but patrol officers quickly located a vehicle matching a witness description. Following an investigation, police arrested Jack Glauner, 69, of Crystal Lake.

Glauner was charged with public indecency/lewd exposure near school grounds, a Class 4 felony, and disorderly conduct/breach of peace, a Class C misdemeanor, police said.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility.
