Man Held In Stalking Cases After Judge Cites ‘Persistent Pattern’

MCHENRY, IL — A 22-year-old man accused of stalking three women in separate cases has been ordered held without pretrial release after a judge found he poses “a real and present threat” to the safety of others.

Kishaun C. Davis is accused of secretly recording one woman inside her home, recording another woman's intimate parts and damaging a woman's vehicle, according to court records. A McHenry County Court judge denied pretrial release for Davis, who is charged in three separate cases, this past week, according to court documents provided to Patch.

The court's written findings say the cases involve three victims and multiple alleged incidents. The judge noted similarities among the stalking cases and said that while the circumstances of Davis' initial contact with each victim differed, what allegedly happened afterward showed a "persistent pattern," according to court documents.

The judge said Davis researched the victims, took notes, planned and executed his actions in each case.

One case alleges Davis recorded a woman inside her residence from outside the home without her consent at about 1:40 a.m. March 27. He is also accused of monitoring, observing and surveilling her between March 27 and July 8 in a manner that prosecutors allege caused her emotional distress, according to court documents.

A second case alleges Davis damaged a 2016 red Nissan Sentra belonging to a different woman between July 17 and July 18.

The criminal complaint alleges Davis slashed all four tires, broke the driver's-side windshield wiper, removed both rearview mirrors, kicked a hole in the front bumper and cut multiple wires, tubes and hoses.

A third case alleges Davis placed a cellphone up a woman's loose-fitting shorts at about 4:30 p.m. on July 9 and recorded her intimate parts without her consent. He is charged with unauthorized video recording of persons' intimate parts or undergarments, a Class 4 felony.

The judge cited other prior offenses, including possession of a weapon by a felon and battery, some of which resulted in convictions and time in prison. The court also reviewed Davis' seized cellphone, which the judge said contained a substantial amount of evidence.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 21 in courtroom 302, according to court records.
