• Couple, Pet Dog Rescued After Truck Plunges Into Deerfield Pond (patch.com) — Morning drivers in Deerfield saw emergency crews rush to a pond off I-294 at Lake Cook Road after a red truck left the roadway and plunged into the water with a couple and their dog trapped inside. Fire and rescue teams pulled all three to safety, with one person taken to a local hospital as state police continue investigating the crash.
