• CITGO Lemont Refinery Holds Planned Emergency Response Drill On Tuesday (patch.com) — Residents near the CITGO Lemont Refinery may see extra emergency vehicles and crews as the facility runs a federally required emergency response drill with local, state, and federal agencies. The exercise is designed to test communication, coordination, and resource deployment so responders are better prepared to protect Lemont's community and environment during a major incident, but it will not signal a real emergency.
   

• 'Enchanted Adventure' Featuring Pumpkin Trail Returns To The Forge: Lemont Quarries (patch.com) — Families in Lemont can look forward to Enchanted Adventure returning to The Forge: Lemont Quarries this fall, running nightly from Sept. 25 to Nov. 1. The event features a half-mile illuminated pumpkin trail, live carving, photo ops, seasonal treats, and optional Kids Fun Pass access to several child-friendly attractions.
   

• The Best Suburban Public High Schools (chicagotribune.com) — Lemont families can take pride that Lemont High School ranks among the top suburban public high schools in the Chicago area on this new list. The rankings draw on 2024–25 Illinois State Board of Education performance data analyzed by a research nonprofit. Dozens of neighboring communities' schools are also compared, offering context for local parents and students.
