• Devoted ministry assistant retiring after 23 years (kentuckytoday.com) — A longtime ministry assistant serving the South Central Baptist Association in Bowling Green is retiring after 23 years, and the community is invited to celebrate her service at the association building. Colleagues praise Amy Smith's behind-the-scenes work supporting 68 churches and her deep personal ministry. Smith and her family are active members of Calvary Baptist Church in Bowling Green. 
• WKU Soccer shuts out Ball State (wbko.com) — WKU Soccer notched a 2-0 home win in Bowling Green over Ball State, highlighted by local native Maggie Bellair scoring her first college goal in front of family. April McDonald added an early header, and the Hilltoppers' defense secured their third clean sheet. WKU next hosts Union on Thursday, Aug. 27, with free admission at the WKU Soccer Complex.
