JCTC moves forward on $95M transformation with new science center, green space (wave3.com) — Jefferson Community and Technical College's downtown Louisville campus is getting a major $95 million upgrade, including a new College Green, science center and 500-space parking garage. Leaders say the project is designed to boost student pride and connection, with a future phase adding a math and humanities building plus a skywalk over First Street.
   

2. LMPD responds to shooting of 11-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries (courier-journal.com) — An 11-year-old boy was shot Saturday evening in Louisville's Watterson Park neighborhood and rushed to Norton Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Louisville Metro Police. Because of how serious his condition is, LMPD's Homicide Unit has taken over the case. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more details will be released as they learn them.
   

3. Man sleeping in cardboard box at Louisville cemetery crushed to death in hit-and-run (nypost.com) — A man sleeping in a cardboard box at Bethany Cemetery in Louisville was killed when a driver ran over his makeshift shelter and then left the scene, police say. Investigators allege the cemetery's groundskeeper tried to help cover up the hit-and-run. Both men are now jailed on serious charges, with bonds set by a Jefferson County judge.
   

4. Mother accused of killing son, putting his body in suitcase wants judge to lower her bond (local12.com) — A Louisville mother accused of killing her 5-year-old son at her home, then leaving his body in a suitcase in southern Indiana, is asking a Jefferson County judge to lower her $500,000 bond. Her attorneys argue an autopsy points to an electrolyte imbalance, while prosecutors say she believed the boy was possessed. A new bond hearing date has not been set.
