Robbery suspect arrested in south Louisville after hours-long search (wave3.com) — Louisville Metro Police arrested a 47-year-old man in south Louisville after an hours-long search that put several nearby schools on heightened alert. Officers say he's accused of robbing three local businesses and attempting to rob a fourth, and now faces multiple robbery-related charges following his capture near Dixie Highway and Upper Hunters Trace.
   

2. Louisville Fire Department adds new $1.1M pumper to fleet (wave3.com) — Louisville's fire protection just got a boost with a new $1.1 million Pierce Enforcer pumper now in service with Engine 18, part of a broader upgrade of the city's firefighting resources. Recent Metro Government investments include millions for new breathing gear, a replacement firehouse for Engine 23, and higher firefighter pay, all aimed at strengthening emergency response across Louisville.
   

3. Louisville women's basketball adds former LSU forward Amiya Joyner (courier-journal.com) — University of Louisville women's basketball is adding former LSU forward Amiya Joyner, who averaged 9.2 points and 7.5 rebounds last season. Her transfer is enabled by ongoing NCAA eligibility lawsuits, and a temporary restraining order currently allows her to play for the Cards in the 2026-27 season.
   

4. The PC(USA)'s Young Adult Volunteers are commissioned to 'a year of service for a lifetime of change' (pres-outlook.org) — Louisville plays a key role in the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s Young Adult Volunteers program, with some of this year's 47 participants commissioned at the Presbyterian Center here and others assigned to serve in the city. The newly commissioned volunteers will spend a year in simple, community-based service across U.S. and international sites, focusing on justice, faith, and vocational discernment.
