Worldfest 2026 Labor Day Weekend (iheart.com) — Louisville residents can look forward to WorldFest returning to the Belvedere downtown over Labor Day weekend, September 4–7, 2026, with free admission. The city's premier international festival will feature three entertainment stages, nearly 150 global vendors, a Parade of Cultures, children's activities, and even a naturalization ceremony welcoming new citizens to Louisville. 
2. Louisville residents back KRC model data center ordinance (spectrumnews1.com) — Louisville Metro is weighing new zoning rules for hyperscale data centers, and many local residents are urging officials to adopt a stricter model ordinance drafted by the Kentucky Resources Council. The proposal would regulate centers by their impacts, adding setbacks, noise limits, and water-saving cooling requirements to better protect nearby homes and sensitive sites. Ongoing feedback could further refine the rules.
3. 'Tell us where that money is': Questions raised after changes announced at Louisville Cemetery (wlky.com) — Louisville Cemetery has stopped accepting new burials after months of complaints about poor maintenance and difficulty reaching its owners, leaving some families scrambling for alternative plots. The city has issued multiple citations, while a local improvement association continues volunteer cleanups and presses for answers about how a $1.3 million care fund is being used.
4. 'It gives her purpose': Project Linus volunteers knit security for children at Kentucky State Fair (wave3.com) — At the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville, Project Linus volunteers are sewing and quilting thousands of handmade blankets to comfort children facing illness, abuse, or other trauma. Local crafters say the work not only supports kids across Kentucky and especially Louisville, but also gives purpose and community to volunteers of all ages, including a 93-year-old quilter.
5. A first-of-its-kind US factory could make grid batteries safer (toptech.news) — A new $42 million Anthro Energy factory is coming to Louisville, promising 110 permanent jobs and a key role in the U.S. battery supply chain. The plant will make safer polymer electrolytes for grid, transportation, and defense batteries, backed by major federal funding. Construction and nearly 390 related jobs are expected as it ramps up toward a 2027 opening.
