• Louisville woman charged with manslaughter following fatal motorcycle collision (wave3.com) — Louisville readers should know a 24-year-old local woman has been charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter after a Sept. 6 crash at Greenbelt Highway and Greenwood Road that killed two motorcycle riders. Louisville Metro Police say THC vape cartridges were found in her vehicle, and she is being held on a $500,000 cash bond ahead of arraignment.
   

• Family honors son killed in 2023 Iroquois neighborhood shooting with tree planting (wave3.com) — Louisville residents are invited to remember David English, who was killed in a 2023 Iroquois neighborhood shooting, through new fruit trees being planted at 25th and Dale Street. His family, partnering with Change Today Change Tomorrow, began a project to plant 21 fruit-bearing trees across Louisville to honor his love of nature while still seeking answers in his unsolved case.
   

• Operation Parent celebrates 20 years of supporting families (wlky.com) — Based in Louisville, Operation Parent is marking 20 years of helping families handle issues like technology, mental health, substance use, and bullying. The nonprofit, which began serving Kentucky communities, now reaches over 500,000 families nationwide through handbooks, webinars, and digital resources, and plans to expand its tools and partnerships while keeping parents at the center of kids' support systems.
