Fathers On A Mission partners with BRG to bring mobile health care to community (louisianafirstnews.com) — Starting Thursday, Sept. 3, a BRG Care on the Go mobile health unit will offer services from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1120 Government Street in Baton Rouge on the first Thursday of every month. Fathers On A Mission and Baton Rouge General are partnering to make basic health care more accessible for all residents, not just fathers, by bringing services directly into the neighborhood.

Louisiana Healthy Blue Medicaid members have until Nov. 16 to choose new plan (louisianafirstnews.com) — If you use Healthy Blue Medicaid in Baton Rouge, you'll need to pick a new health plan between Oct. 15 and Nov. 16 as the company exits Louisiana's Medicaid program. Coverage continues through Dec. 31, and the state will help match you with plans that keep your doctors, prescriptions, and family members together.
   

3. 'He didn't deserve this': Family remembers 22-year-old killed in Baton Rouge apartment shooting (wafb.com) — A 22-year-old man was killed and four others wounded in a Saturday shooting at an apartment complex on North Ardenwood Drive in Baton Rouge, leaving his close-knit family grieving an unexpected loss. Relatives describe Latrell Trumble as a smiling, active young man who loved sports and family time, and say he was an innocent bystander. Police have not yet made any arrests.

Free 988 day rally set for Sept. 8 at State Capitol Gardens (cenlanow.com) — Baton Rouge residents are invited to a free 988 Day rally on Sept. 8 at the State Capitol Gardens, highlighting Louisiana's 24-hour mental health crisis helpline.
