Historic tomb desecrated at Baton Rouge cemetery (wafb.com) — A historic tomb at Magnolia Cemetery in Baton Rouge was recently vandalized, damaging a monument tied to one of Louisiana's most prominent early leaders. A local Civil War tour operator says the toppled gravestone could hurt heritage tourism and highlights long-standing maintenance issues at the city-owned cemetery, which BREC has yet to publicly address.
   

2. Drivin N Cryin Extend 2026 Tour With More Dates (ultimateclassicrock.com) — Atlanta rock band Drivin N Cryin will bring their 2026 tour and new album "Crushing Flowers" to Chelsea's Live in Baton Rouge on November 10. The long-running group, praised by fellow musicians for their genre-blending sound, is playing one of its most extensive tours in years, giving local fans a rare chance to see them live nearby.
   

3. Budweiser Clydesdales Coming to LSU-Clemson Game (k945.com) — Fans heading to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge for Saturday's LSU-Clemson game can also catch the famous Budweiser Clydesdales joining the team and Golden Band from Tigerland on the traditional March Down Victory Hill. The horses' visit, tied to Anheuser-Busch's partnership with Folds of Honor, adds a patriotic twist to game day, with the march set for 4:34 p.m. before kickoff.
   

4. Felony threat: Louisiana's new campus weed law looms over tailgaters (wafb.com) — LSU students and fans in Baton Rouge face tougher penalties this season if they smoke marijuana on or near campus, with a new state law allowing up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. University officials say enforcement details won't be public, but emphasize that game day must stay family-friendly and that LSU remains a drug-free campus.
   

5. Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs honors Gold Star families following 9/11 anniversary (cenlanow.com) — Gold Star families from across Louisiana are being honored at a free ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Gold Star Monument in Louisiana Veterans Memorial Park next to the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. The event, held shortly after the 9/11 anniversary, features a keynote address, name-reading of fallen service members, and a picnic lunch, with RSVPs encouraged for planning.
