Child Porn Charges Filed Against Prince George's Co. Teacher

COLLEGE PARK, MD — A 70-year-old teacher from Prince George's County has been charged with multiple counts of distribution and possession of child pornography.

Donald Kirk Marchand 3rd, 70, was arrested by Maryland State Police shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday without incident and taken to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he is currently being held awaiting a bail review.

Starting in September 2026, the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force launched an investigation into the distribution and possession of child pornography that was linked to Marchand. This morning, the Maryland State Police Child Exploitation Unit, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and Prince George’s County Police Department, served a search warrant on Marchand’s home in College Park. Multiple items were seized, according to the Maryland State Police.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Marchand currently is a teacher at the all-girls Catholic school Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg. He also has taught at other schools, the Maryland State Police stated.
