• Bowie State University to Lay Off 20 Faculty Members (jbhe.com) — Bowie State University plans to eliminate 20 faculty positions before fiscal year 2028, after already cutting 79 staff roles this spring to address an $18 million deficit. Despite major philanthropic gifts in recent years, university leaders say structural financial pressures are continuing, and affected faculty will teach through this academic year while departments are reorganized.
