• Fluoride levels restored to water in Montgomery, Prince George's counties (dcnewsnow.com) — Fluoride levels in WSSC drinking water have been fully restored for customers in Montgomery and Prince George's counties, including Laurel residents, after several months of reduced levels. Officials say the supply issues that forced a cutback in April have eased, and water now again contains 0.7 milligrams per liter of fluoride, a level public health agencies endorse for dental health.

• Acro Junior Worlds, World Youth Competitions kick off with qualifying • USA Gymnastics (usagym.org) — A local gymnast from Laurel Benjamin Dethridge, is competing on a U.S. men's group at the Acrobatic Junior World Championships and World Youth Competitions in Pesaro, Italy. His group, representing Emilia's Acro Gymnastics and Cheer, currently sits seventh after balance routines, with several American teammates from Maryland and other states also earning top-20 placements as qualifying continues.
