1. 1 Person Injured In Shooting Near Cambridge Park (patch.com) — Residents near Russell Field in North Cambridge saw a large police response Tuesday afternoon after a shooting left one person injured and taken to a local hospital. Cambridge police say there's no ongoing threat but are keeping officers in the area as detectives investigate, and they're urging anyone with information to contact the department or submit anonymous tips online.
   

2. Convicted child predator allegedly attacks two women inside Planet Fitness women's locker room (nationalcybersecurity.com) — Two women were allegedly attacked inside the women's locker room at a Planet Fitness in Cambridge, leading to the arrest of a convicted child rapist who prosecutors say assaulted a guest and an employee trying to help. Cambridge police and the Middlesex District Attorney detail his prior convictions and recent registration issues, while Planet Fitness says it canceled his membership and is cooperating with investigators.
   

3. Kim Named NWPC Player of the Week (gocrimson.com) — Harvard men's water polo standout Kim has been named NWPC Player of the Week after scoring nine goals in two conference wins, a highlight for fans right here in Cambridge. The Crimson now return home for the first time since August, hosting Brown on Saturday before heading across the river to face MIT, giving local supporters two nearby chances to catch the team in action.
   

4. Quincy paramedics could soon perform blood transfusions (patriotledger.com) — Cambridge is part of a new regional Whole Blood Response Program funded by a $300,000 state grant shared with Quincy and Boston, aimed at enabling paramedics to start blood transfusions before patients reach the hospital. While Quincy would host a specialized SUV to deliver blood to ambulances, the program still needs final approvals and a blood-supply commitment from Boston Medical Center before it can launch.
