Chief Michael Daniels says the Flock Safety system has already helped solve a significant property damage case and locate a vulnerable missing person, while stressing that access is tightly controlled, logged, and limited to legitimate law enforcement purposes.
   

• Police Log: Driver and Passenger Extricated after Crash, Resident Reports Assault in Friend's Home, Vehicle Break-Ins (town.news) — A Canton resident reported that $40,000 was taken through four unauthorized withdrawals from a Rockland Trust account opened on University Avenue in Westwood, prompting a local police investigation. The same weekly Westwood police log details several other incidents, including vehicle break-ins, shoplifting, and a serious crash requiring extrication and OUI charges.
   

• Matthew Farwell Defense Says Sandra Birchmore Died by Suicide (lamag.com) — Canton residents are again seeing their town named in a high‑profile death investigation, as federal prosecutors prepare to argue that former Stoughton detective Matthew Farwell murdered Sandra Birchmore and staged her death as a suicide. The case, linked in public attention to the Karen Read investigation, centers on events in 2021 and is headed to trial in October.
