2025 Share the Love Event Helps Springwell & Meals on Wheels

Springwell is particularly grateful for long-time support from MetroWest Subaru

Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated nearly 5 million meals and helped provide friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country. Springwell, a Meals on Wheels member organization serving twenty greater Boston and MetroWest communities, has received more than $47,000 through the campaign over the years. Locally, MetroWest Subaru has a long history of dedicated support to Springwell’s Meals on Wheels Program and is proud to assist Springwell in delivering this much needed service to some of our most vulnerable seniors in the towns where our Meals on Wheels program operates.

As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 to a charity, like Meals on Wheels, for every new vehicle leased or sold from November 20, 2025, to January 2, 2026. Since the Subaru Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated nearly 5 million meals and helped provide friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country. VJ Donnelly from MetroWest Subaru has been a dedicated volunteer Meals on Wheels driver for Springwell during the past seven years. VJ has seen firsthand the huge impact delivering Meals on Wheels can have in his community. Many of the older adults on his route see VJ as an important part of their lives in making sure they have the support they need to stay both independent and safe by providing nutritious meals to them. As VJ explains, being a MOW driver is more than a simple drop off of a meal. Each volunteer also provides companionship and a daily safety check to make sure the elder is doing well.

This particular year has seen both Meals on Wheels programs and local food pantry’s face the challenges of increased demand for help along with significant funding cuts. VJ knows more than ever that MetroWest Subaru’s Share the Love campaign is going to need to make a significant impact to help those elders who are facing food insecurity in their lives.
