'Remote Terminal' Opens June 1 At Framingham's Logan Express Station
Soon, air travelers will be able to check in, drop their bags and go through security screening before they get to Boston's Logan Airport.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — For decades travelers headed to Boston’s Logan International Airport have parked in Framingham, and soon they’ll be able to check in for flights here too.
Beginning June 1, Framingham’s Logan Express shuttle bus station will be able to handle that process. Passengers can also check bags and undergo security screening at the station before taking a secure bus to the airport.
Travelers will be dropped off beyond the regular security checkpoint, steps from their gates, according to a statement late Monday from the Massachusetts Port Authority.

The "remote terminal" service costs $9 each way, and reservations are now available through the Massport website.
The test program will initially be open only to Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways passengers traveling between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. But the authority said it hopes to expand the service to other carriers in the future.

“This pilot program is part of Massport’s broader vision to reimagine the travel experience and make the passenger journey more seamless, connected, and efficient,” said CEO Rich Davey. “Passengers in and around MetroWest now have a new, low-stress way to reach Boston Logan.”
The program will be operated by the Landline Co., which manages airport bus services in other states. According to Massport, the Framingham location is the first remote terminal in the nation that allows passengers to complete TSA screening before traveling to an airport.
Massport said the new service adds to those of Logan Express, which provides airport parking and shuttle service at the Framingham site – near the Shoppers World mall – plus Back Bay, Braintree, Danvers and Woburn.
Launched in 1986, the Logan Express system carried more than 2.7 million passengers last year. The Framingham service is the busiest branch.
Massport may also consider developing another remote terminal at the Logan Express station in Braintree.
