• A Mass. high schooler invented an AI-powered flood predictor. It could wind up saving lives throughout the US. (boston.com) — North Reading town engineers are working to integrate Project IRIS, a student-created AI tool that predicts floods up to three days in advance, to improve local emergency response. Developed around the Ipswich River, the system uses satellite imagery to provide highly accurate alerts and could eventually be expanded nationwide. Its creator, 17-year-old Arush Shangari, continues refining the technology with grants and research support.
