Board approves adding radar signs (candgnews.com) — Macomb Township is adding six more radar speed signs on key neighborhood collector roads, aiming to slow drivers on Kingsway, Beacon Square, and Riverwoods. Township officials also pressed Priority Waste on service problems but, noting recent improvements and new trucks on the road, chose to let the company's default status lapse while planning another performance check-in in about six months.
   

2. Clinton Township family gets accessible home built for daughter with cerebral palsy (wxyz.com) — Just south of you in Clinton Township, a family of six now has a fully accessible Habitat for Humanity home tailored to their 20-year-old daughter, who has cerebral palsy. Built by Habitat for Humanity of Macomb County, the ranch-style house features wider doors, open floor space, and a barrier-free bathroom, giving her more independence and the family long-term housing stability.
   

3. Chinese national sentenced for operating trafficking ring in Michigan massage parlors (cbsnews.com) — A major human trafficking case tied to massage parlors in Macomb County has resulted in a prison sentence of 40 months to 20 years for the ringleader, with multiple victims rescued. State officials say the operation was among Michigan's largest forced commercial sex enterprises, and they're urging residents to report suspected trafficking through a confidential national hotline.
   

4. Former state rep replaces DeBoyer on ballot for Macomb-St. Clair House seat (macombdaily.com) — Voters in the Macomb–St. Clair House district will now see former state Rep. Pamela Hornberger on the ballot after local Republican committee members from Macomb and St. Clair counties picked her to replace Jay DeBoyer. A St. Clair County judge confirmed that only party officials living within the district could vote, and Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini is finalizing ballots ahead of upcoming voting.
   

5. Detroiter has West Nile virus. Health leaders say avoid mosquito bites (freep.com subscription) — West Nile virus has already infected people in Macomb County this year, and Detroit just confirmed its first case, prompting health officials to stress mosquito-bite prevention. Residents across southeast Michigan are urged to repair window screens, use EPA-registered repellents, dump standing water, and watch for symptoms like fever, headache, or rash after mosquito exposure.
