Police seized most of his 22 registered firearms under an Extreme Risk Protection Order, and prosecutors say the men were peacefully sharing information about Islam when the incident occurred.

2. Corewell Health, Select Medical to build 84-bed rehab hospital in Michigan (repertoiremag.com) — Residents who rely on Beaumont Troy for rehabilitation services will see capacity grow significantly as Corewell Health and Select Medical plan an 84-bed inpatient rehab hospital in nearby Sterling Heights, adjacent to the Troy campus. The four-story facility, expected to open in 2029, will nearly quadruple Troy's current rehab footprint for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions.

3. Funding the final mile for English learners (chalkbeat.org) — A Troy High School English language development teacher is highlighted as Michigan advocates push the state to fund support for students who test near-proficient in English but still struggle with advanced academic language. The story explains how roughly 24,000 students statewide fall into a funding gap, leaving districts like Troy's to serve them without extra state dollars even though federal law says they're entitled to help.
