Meridian Public Schools approve completion of work to new district offices (meridianstar.com) — Meridian families should know the school board has approved substantial completion of renovations for the district's new central offices at 1019 25th Ave., consolidating key operations. Trustees also signed off on a wide range of spending and grants, from new school buses and gifted testing to literacy and English learner programs, leadership training, and campus police funding for the 2026-27 school year.
   

2. Meridian crushes Columbus 50-8 (meridianstar.com) — Meridian football fans saw the Wildcats dominate Columbus 50-8, evening their record at 2-2 before hosting Hattiesburg this Friday. Other Lauderdale County teams also had big nights, with Lamar, West Lauderdale, Southeast Lauderdale, Clarkdale, Forest, and Russell Christian all in action, setting up another full slate of local high school matchups this week.
   

3. Farley begins new role at The Riley Foundation, continues work with MSU (msstate.edu) — A longtime leader of The Riley Foundation is shifting from executive director to board member while continuing to work closely with Mississippi State University on projects centered in Meridian. The foundation has funneled tens of millions into downtown revitalization, healthcare education, and cultural landmarks like The MAX and the Mississippi Children's Museum – Meridian, strengthening local nonprofits and MSU–Meridian's growing presence.
   

4. One hospitalized, one in custody following Grandview Avenue shooting in Meridian (wtok.com) — Police say a dispute between two people on Grandview Avenue in Meridian led to a Tuesday evening shooting that left one man hospitalized in stable condition and another person in custody. Authorities emphasize the incident appears isolated, with no ongoing threat to the wider community as investigators continue to gather details.
   

5. Students compete in C3 Jr. Challenge (meridianstar.com) — Elementary students from across Mississippi, including several local schools, gathered at the Mississippi Children's Museum – Meridian for C Spire's C3 Jr. Challenge, a hands-on coding and robotics competition. Fourth graders worked in teams with teachers and C Spire mentors, using Dash robots in an escape-room style challenge to build problem-solving, teamwork, and technology skills that could shape their future careers.
