The Hoboken school district has a high school, middle school, and three elementary schools.

The three charter schools in town are considered separate districts, although the Hoboken board may influence some decisions regarding the charter schools.

In 2021, the district proposed a $241 million plan to build a new high school and renovate other buildings, but it was voted down. (See why.) The district is now holding community engagement meetings to plan for the future.

Patricia Waiters' Answers

1. What is the biggest problem facing your electorate right now, and how do you hope to solve it?

Answer, I hope to solve the biggest problems that we all face in the Hoboken Public Schools system, I will make sure ALL CITIZENS are represented, Because the specific geographical areas of Hoboken some people are not represented by my opponents and their friends that’s been on this board for years, I am the only candidate that will give my undivided attention to ALL THE CHILDREN and let them know they deserve equal opportunities like the others, I can bring real diversity to the board in a town where black children, teachers, employees and staff have their concerns addressed without fear of retaliation, these Hoboken board members have shown themselves to be more concerned about their buddies, special interest groups and big political leaders high paying jobs and pay to play, I will call for an immediate investigation and have all the dirty politics removed from our public schools when I win.

2. Why do you believe you're the most qualified person for the spot?

I am indeed the most qualified candidate for this position because my 30 years of experience dealing with the Hoboken public school, and all the residents that have come to me with trust, faith and confidence to help them with all matters of concerns, I am not a random person that the incumbent selected just to put on their ticket to be another VOTE to push their same old dirty politics as usual, I the best candidate because I have proven in the past attending every meeting and keeping my eyes wide open and I have full knowledge of every issue that’s taking place in this district, I won’t turn my head and take a blind eye on what’s happening to protect a friend or political boss, I will solely act under the authority of the people and put the children, special needs, employees, workers and union first and serve the people NOT THE POLITICIANS. Please Vote November 3rd (4G) Patrici Waiters Hoboken BOE
