Rt. 36 Bridge In Long Branch Closed Starting Monday (patch.com) — Drivers in Long Branch should prepare for a long-term closure of the Route 36 bridge over Troutmans Creek starting Monday, Sept. 14, with traffic detoured through nearby streets. The aging 1941 bridge will be demolished and replaced in a $7.9 million project scheduled to finish before Memorial Day 2027, with new lanes, shoulders, and sidewalks designed to maintain current capacity.

Free Food and Nutrition Counseling Now Available at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch (centraljersey.com) — Residents in and around Long Branch can now access free groceries and nutrition counseling through the new Food Farmacy inside Monmouth Medical Center's Alexander Pavilion. Eligible patients receive fresh produce and culturally relevant foods plus one-on-one sessions with registered dietitians to help manage conditions like diabetes and heart disease, all as part of a broader effort to fight food insecurity in Monmouth County.
   

3. Starting Monday: Oakwood Avenue to Close for Construction in Long Branch (tapinto.net) — Starting Monday, Sept. 14, drivers in Long Branch should expect weekday closures and detours on Oakwood Avenue between Wall Street and Broadway as construction gets underway. Work will run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for several weeks, and the city's Department of Public Safety urges motorists to follow posted detours, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes.
   

4. Monmouth University Ranks No. 3 Among the Nation's Colleges Closest to the Beach (monmouth.edu) — Monmouth University has been ranked the nation's No. 3 college closest to the beach, with its West Long Branch campus sitting about a mile from Long Branch's shoreline. The article highlights how that coastal setting supports hands-on marine and environmental research while giving students easy access to both the beach and major nearby cities.
