Morristown Offering Fall Tennis Classes For Kids: See Details

Children ages 3 to 14 can learn tennis fundamentals during a four-week program at Lidgerwood Park beginning this month.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Young tennis players looking to sharpen their skills or learn the sport can sign up for a new round of fall tennis lessons in Morristown beginning next weekend.

Morristown Recreation is offering a four-week Late Fall Tennis program at Lidgerwood Park, with classes scheduled on Sundays from Oct. 18 through Nov. 8.

The program, instructed by USA Sport Group, is open to children ages 3 to 14, with sessions divided by age group.

Participants will learn and practice the fundamentals of tennis, including forehand and backhand strokes, serving and rallying.

Classes will be held at the following times:

  • Ages 3–4: 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
  • Ages 5–7: 1:50 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.
  • Ages 8–10: 2:45 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • Ages 11–14: 3:45 p.m. to 4:35 p.m.

The four-session program costs $115 for Morristown residents and $125 for non-residents.

According to Morristown Recreation, a limited number of spots remain available ahead of the first classes on Oct. 18.
