• Scotch Plains To Hold September 11 Memorial Ceremony Friday (patch.com) — Scotch Plains is inviting residents and visitors to gather Friday evening at the Alan M. Augustine Village Green for its annual September 11 memorial ceremony, marking 25 years since the attacks. The event will honor first responders and remember local residents Matthew Horning, James Walsh and Mark David "Mickey" Rothenberg, highlighting the lasting impact of their loss on the community.
   

• Berkeley Heights and Scotch Plains-Fanwood: Terrace II Review and ESCO Award (nj21st.com) — Scotch Plains-Fanwood schools are moving ahead with a major energy-savings contract that could bring $10–14 million in HVAC, lighting, roofing, and solar upgrades across district buildings. At the same time, nearby Berkeley Heights is wrestling with engineering and tax-incentive questions on its Terrace II development, offering a glimpse of how large projects can affect local infrastructure and finances.
   

• Motorcyclist thrown 35 feet in crash in front of N.J. mall (nj.com subscription) — A Scotch Plains woman driving an SUV was involved in a serious crash Monday near Menlo Park Mall in Edison when her vehicle collided with a southbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a Metuchen man, was thrown about 35 feet and remains in critical but stable condition, while the SUV driver was uninjured as police continue investigating without filing charges yet.
