• Rowing from Cape May Point to Statue of Liberty ‣ Ocean City Sentinel (ocnjsentinel.com) — Two former Upper Township Beach Patrol lifeguards recently completed a six-day, 155-mile row from Cape May Point to the Statue of Liberty, honoring America's 250th anniversary and their hometown roots. Along the way, they raised more than $14,000 for the Upper Township Beach Patrol scholarship fund and a coastal preservation group, with strong support from local sponsors and beach patrols up the Jersey coast.
