1. New bike lane pilot takes shape on MLK in Albuquerque (koat.com) — Cyclists in Albuquerque will soon see new separated bike lane designs along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue between Arno and Oak as the city launches a two-week installation pilot. Officials will test six types of barriers and then survey residents, using the results to shape future bike infrastructure on this high-crash Vision Zero corridor and across Albuquerque. 
2. 3 Questions: Leba Freed at the WHEELS Museum (abq.news) — Albuquerque's WHEELS Museum at the historic Rail Yards is expanding its role in preserving the city's transportation history, from model trains to a full‑size movie railcar and glider. President Leba Freed discusses the museum's growth, new agreement for a second building, weekly educational programs, and extended Thursday hours, inviting residents to explore and support this uniquely local institution.
3. Big tax breaks in Bernalillo County now come with big strings attached (abq.news) — Bernalillo County has approved a $1.2 billion industrial revenue bond for a 400‑megawatt solar and battery project on Albuquerque's Westside, near Atrisco Vista and I‑40, under new community benefit rules. The deal ties major tax breaks to local jobs, a community benefit fund, and environmental protections, potentially shaping future large‑scale projects that impact Westside neighborhoods.
4. Meals on Wheels and New Mexico Gas, offer no-cost weatherizing before winter (kob.com) — Albuquerque residents in need can get their homes weatherized for free this winter through a partnership between New Mexico Gas Company and Meals on Wheels New Mexico, now in its second year. Crews are adding door strips, caulking, and water-heater blankets to cut heating costs and improve comfort, and interested locals are encouraged to email the utility's energy efficiency team to apply.
5. Official with controversial Albuquerque drug rehab center reacts to permit revocation (krqe.com) — A residential treatment center in east Albuquerque, Empower Health Services, may have to relocate after neighbors successfully appealed its conditional use permit, saying the facility harms nearby homes and businesses. City councilors revoked the permit, while the center's cofounder argues the process was unfair and that the location is crucial to keeping patients away from visible drug activity.
