Amityville Church Stabbing That Put Victim On Ventilator Was Random, Unprovoked: Investigators (dailyvoice.com) — A Bay Shore man has been indicted on attempted murder and assault charges after investigators say he randomly stabbed a fellow attendee at an Amityville church meeting, leaving the victim hospitalized and initially on a ventilator. Authorities say the suspect was arrested at his Bay Shore home soon after the attack and is being held on high bail ahead of an October court date.
   

3. Clammer rescued in Great South Bay after his waders fill with water (greaterlongisland.com) — A 68-year-old clammer was rescued from the Great South Bay after his kayak began sinking and his waders filled with water, leaving him semiconscious near Sore Thumb Beach. Good Samaritans and Suffolk marine police got him to safety, and he was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment, underscoring local emergency response on the water.
   

4. Central Islip Filmmaker Brings Long Island's Overlooked Hip-Hop History To The Screen (patch.com) — Long Island's underground hip-hop roots, including scenes in Bay Shore and other central Suffolk communities, are getting their due in a new documentary by Central Islip native Archie Snowden. The film, screening this weekend in Stony Brook, highlights early DJs, MCs, and neighborhood parties that helped shape the region's sound long before its most famous artists broke through.
