• Appellate judge ends Freeport's Cleveland Ave. land controversy (liherald.com) — Freeport residents now have clarity on the long-disputed Cleveland Avenue field, after a state appellate court confirmed the village owns the 17.5-acre parkland and the school district ended its legal fight. Officials say the land will remain park space, with the district and community able to seek licenses to keep using the fields for children and local sports.
