• Great Neck Water District to host fall 'Shed the Meds' event (longislandpress.com) — Great Neck residents can safely clear out unused medications and sharps at the Water Pollution Control District's contactless "Shed the Meds" drive-thru on Oct. 18 at 236 East Shore Road. The district, working with local schools, villages and Nassau police, stresses that proper disposal protects both home safety and local waterways. Remember to separate medications from sharps before you arrive.
