Mom Arrested On Murder Charge More Than A Year After The Death Of 10-Year-Old Daughter

ELLENVILLE, NY — After a more than yearlong investigation, a Hudson Valley mom has been charged with killing her young daughter.

The New York State Police in Troop F have announced the arrest of 30-year-old Angelica Sullivan, of Ellenville, in the death of her 10-year-old daughter, Kathleen E. Pulido.

On Aug. 18, 2025, Ellenville police were called to a home on Park Street after receiving an emergency call about an unresponsive 10-year-old girl. The child was rushed to Ellenville Regional Hospital, where lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead.

The New York State Police assumed the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Pulido's death.

Following that investigation by the New York State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Sullivan was arrested on Thursday, and charged with second-degree murder.

"The arrest of Angelica Sullivan is the result of an extensive investigation conducted by members of the New York State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in close coordination with the Ulster County District Attorney's Office and our law enforcement partners," Troop F BCI Captain Brad Natalizio said in a statement. "Investigators demonstrated professionalism, persistence, and resilience throughout this case. Despite the difficult nature of investigating the death of a child, they remained focused on following the evidence and conducting a thorough and objective investigation."

The New York State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Ellenville Police Department, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, the Ulster County Child Advocacy Center, Ulster County Child Protective Services, the Orange County Family Violence Unit, and Orange County Child Protective Services.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to NYSP.

"We are grateful to the agencies that assisted throughout this investigation, particularly the Ulster County District Attorney's Office for its continued coordination and assistance," Natalizio said "Our thoughts remain with Kathleen Pulido and all those affected by her death."
