Ex-Sag Harbor PTA Vice-President Gets Probation, Restitution After Stealing More Than $14K From PTA: DA (patch.com) — Parents in Southampton Town may be paying close attention after a former Sag Harbor Elementary School PTA vice president from Sag Harbor was sentenced to five years' probation for stealing more than $14,000 in PTA funds. Prosecutors say she used the PTA debit card for personal shopping and cash withdrawals, and she must now repay every dollar to the Sag Harbor Elementary School PTA while under court supervision.
   

2. Woman Caught With Stun Gun In Water Mill: Police (patch.com) — A late-night traffic stop in Water Mill led Southampton Town police to arrest a Queens woman after they discovered a forged registration sticker, an electronic stun gun, and a suspended driver's license. The driver was charged with several misdemeanors and issued multiple traffic summonses before being released from Southampton Town police headquarters on an appearance ticket.
   

3. Town Board Advances Clariti Cloud Permit Software • Southampton, NY ' I Love Hamptons (ilovehamptons.com) — Southampton Town is overhauling its permitting, licensing, and code enforcement systems with a new three-year, $355,000 Clariti Cloud software contract, aiming to give residents online dashboards and faster processing. Town officials say the centralized digital platform should streamline applications across departments, reduce in-person trips to Town Hall, and free staff to focus more on safety, planning, and environmental protection.
   

4. Suffolk Supervisors Call For Albany To Address Unfunded Mandates And Property Tax Pressures (patch.com) — Southampton Supervisor Maria Moore joined other Suffolk town leaders in urging Albany to ease unfunded mandates and rethink New York's 2 percent property tax cap. They argue rising pension and infrastructure costs are squeezing municipal budgets, forcing towns like Southampton to shoulder state-driven expenses while still being blamed locally for property tax increases.
