Investigators report the scam began with a fake Apple payment warning that led to remote computer access and demands for tens of thousands in cash. Authorities, who also found cocaine on the suspect, urge Tarrytown residents—especially seniors—to treat unsolicited financial messages and remote-access requests with extreme caution.
