Rocky's Bulldog Bundle bewilders students at UNC Asheville (thebluebanner.net) — UNC Asheville students are grappling with surprise textbook charges from Rocky's Bulldog Bundle, a new automatic rental program costing $22 per credit hour whether or not classes require materials. Many say they missed or never understood the opt-out window, prompting student government leaders to push for clearer communication, refunds, and an opt-in system that better protects already stretched budgets.
   

2. Unwed Sailor / Blooming / Minorcan at Static Age Records, Asheville Tickets 9/19/2026 (feverup.com) — A touring trio of rock bands is headed to Static Age Records on North Lexington Avenue this Saturday, giving Asheville music fans a four-hour, all-ages show downtown. Unwed Sailor will headline with their bass-driven instrumental rock, joined by Blooming and Minorcan, with standing room, limited seating, and tickets available now for the September 19 performance.
   

3. Young golfers get close-up look at PGA TOUR Championship event in Asheville (wlos.com) — Asheville is hosting a PGA TOUR Biltmore Championship this week at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, bringing both big-name golfers and likely congestion along Brevard Road. Local First Tee youth got rare behind-the-scenes access, practicing on the course, watching pros up close, and hearing encouragement from PGA TOUR Champions players before tournament play runs Thursday through Sunday.
   

4. Brendan Valdes returns from cancer fight with better understanding of why he competes (golfchannel.com) — A major PGA Tour stop is coming to Asheville this week, with 23-year-old pro Brendan Valdes making his return to competition at the inaugural Biltmore Championship after beating primary mediastinal lymphoma. His story of recovery, charity work for pediatric cancer, and determination to regain his form adds extra emotional weight to the tournament local fans can attend and follow closely.
