(charlotteonthecheap.com) — Families in Charlotte can mark their calendars for Blakeney Fall Fest at Blakeney Shopping Center on Rea Road, a free event set for Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival promises an artisan market, live music, balloon art, face painting, kids' entertainers, and shop giveaways, alongside plenty of other fall and Halloween happenings around the Charlotte area.

Community group takes stand against violence in front of district attorney's office (wsoctv.com) — Families affected by violence gathered Sunday on the steps of the Mecklenburg County district attorney's office in Charlotte, displaying photos and empty shoes to honor loved ones lost to murder. Organized by local advocate Clydia Davis, the event urged stronger pursuit of justice and highlighted legislative changes like Iryna's Law that aim to keep accused killers from receiving bond.
   

4. Neighbor describes what she saw following deadly stabbing in northeast Charlotte (wsoctv.com) — Residents in northeast Charlotte are grappling with shock after 38-year-old John Perry was fatally stabbed Saturday night while visiting a neighbor, according to police. A nearby resident described seeing the distraught suspect begging for help and trying to aid the victim before officers arrested 31-year-old Baron Crawford, who now faces a first-degree murder charge and is being held without bond ahead of his first court appearance.
   

5. "Warrior Defined" Event Brings Men Together in Charlotte, With Calls for Events Across the U.S. (wdfxfox34.com) — Men from around the country recently gathered at The Hamilton Event Spaces in Charlotte for the inaugural Warrior Defined: Strength Is Not Silence event focused on men's mental health and connection.
