• 'It devastated everybody': April 16 marks 15 years since historic tornado outbreak (witn.com) — Fifteen years after the deadly April 16, 2011 tornado outbreak, Colerain is still marked by memorial trees and markers honoring neighbors lost in the storm. Survivors from Bertie County recall destroyed homes, closed businesses, and years of recovery, but say the community has slowly rebounded while keeping the victims’ memories alive.
