• Cornelius officer terminated after partner used cameras to track ex-wife (wsoctv.com) — Cornelius residents should know a recently hired town police officer was fired after an internal investigation linked his girlfriend's alleged misuse of Mooresville license plate cameras to tracking his ex-wife. The department cited a policy violation but, under state law, has not released detailed findings, while the former officer denies involvement and is weighing possible legal action. 
• Post 86 installs new officers for 104th year (lakenormanpublications.com) — American Legion Post 86 in Cornelius is marking its 104th year by swearing in new officers to lead the 2026–27 operating year. The post also reminds local veterans they're welcome at its monthly dinner meetings, held the first Thursday evening of each month on Legion Street.
• Several NC State junior targets in mix for prestigious Big 22 Player of the Year award (on3.com) — High school football standouts from Cornelius' Hough High are again in the running for WSOC-TV's Big 22 Player of the Year, a contest that awards $10,000 to the winner's school. Several NC State targets from across the Charlotte region, including Cornelius defensive backs, headline this year's junior and senior nominees.
